Teresa Vander Meer-ChaSse
Teresa Vander Meer-Chassé (b. 1992) is a proud member of the White River First Nation. Her beadwork is inspired by the strong women and the support of the caring men in her life. Teresa defines herself as an Upper Tanana visual artist, incorporating her culture in all the work she creates.
My work often entails searching and discovering lost objects and transforming them into works of art through the application of beadwork. I am lucky enough to have family and friends that provide me with materials that I may transform. It is important to me that as Indigenous People, we occupy space.
