Josée is originally from Gaspé, Québec. She is the daughter of a cod fisherman and was raised by the ocean. Moving to the Yukon in 1996, Josée combines her love of fly fishing and uses fish skins to create unique work from fish skins.
Josée’s creative process starts at the river when she has her fly rod in her hand. Harvesting food and tanning fish skins to make leather and to create artwork, gives her a sense of purpose and meaning. The same joy experienced while fishing is expressed through her fish skin art.
